About

I left the family business back in 2010. It's a pretty big, international business owned and run by my dad. I worked there for over 13 years manning different senior positions.

The reasons for my leaving were many, but at the end of the day it was the pressure of the situation, of working with a close family member that did it.

I won't lie to you. Leaving was rough: My relationship with my dad deteriorated to nothing, and the families broke apart; financially, it was a wild roller-coaster ride; mentally, it was hell...

And yet, I can honestly say that it was completely worth it, the freedom I obtained is priceless.

I started the blog as an outlet, but it became a lot more than that. It became a place for leavers — from around the world — to connect with other leavers and get much needed advice.

It's important to note, that everything on the website is merely my musings (or the musings of others), and it is up to you — and up to you alone — to decide whether leaving your family business is the right thing for you.
